So males are going to go extinct in a few million years? If so, I saw a professor in the Colbert report who said that this was wrong for some reason.

Males will not go extinct in a few million years. Genetic mutations are largely harmless and if a serious one does develop there is a 50-50 chance the body will fix it. If not then infertility does develop, however there is not enough people going infertile for this to have a serious impact on the some 4 billion males on the planet.

West is pretty much equal, health care and sanitation wise for both genders. The only reason it really happens in the east is because China has the one child per family law, meaning boys are more valued due them carrying on the families heritage (consequently, baby girls are sometimes left in alley ways and are just abandoned) and in the Islamic nations boys are more valued for religious reasons. However, the east has a major effect on the population of genders due to India and China containing 2 billion people alone. There are a lot more people in the east than the west.
