You can have innovation and move the industry forward without all the crap. Why not have the game authenticate via internet or, if that is not available, off the game disc itself? Why not make the kinect an optional addition instead of required? For games that require cloud computing or online interaction, the online requirement should just apply for that game. Example: Destiny. It makes sense for Destiny to require internet because of how it is designed.
You can have features without all the baggage.

The conjunction of the sentence (that's the word "or" which presents an alternative idea - "or" can be particularly important in constructing a logical argument) has a profound impact on its meaning when taken as a whole. In the sentence above, the "or" indicates that I am about to suggest a co-existing alternative to their current solution. I am sorry that you missed this.
