Space Flight?
What will space flight be like in Destiny? Will it be as simple as taking off like a jet and 30 seconds later arriving at Mars? Will it be a strategic voyage spacing several minutes? Thoughts?

5 回复This is my hope. Or any one who doesn't know how space flight in Star Wars battlefront 2 works, i'll explain briefly. You can get in and out of your ship when you so choose and pilot your ship into any enemy or teammates frigate. It's free roam and very fun. I want destiny's flight to have element from Star Wars battlefront 2! I would also love if you could pilot your ship to planets and literally fly down into it instead of a loading screen and same with taking off. But even if its not like this, I trust bungie and know their game will be awesome!

1 回复I just spent my last 6 gaming hours replaying some multiplayer and campaign on Reach. I have to say that just having replayed the space mission has really energized me. I had completely forgotten about the cutscene when taking off from Reach. The rocket boosters, the sound effects, the stage one separation, and that gorgeous atmosphere. Man, that's delicious. Even with just a two weapon selection on the Y button, dogfighting in three dimensions with space junk around you and multiple types of enemies is all consuming. Watching your shields and heat on weapons would make it about as complicated as would remain fun. And I forgot that there were Covenant fighter craft called Serephs. If you have Reach, go run that mission again, as soon as possible. You'll realize how cool space combat can be.

7 回复i think you will be able to fly around the atmosphere of a planet than break through to space but as soon as your in the void of space you than have an option to fast travel (via warp speed) to what ever planet you want to go to, without actually physically flying there yourself.

I think it will kinda be like Star Wars The Old Republic. You can free roam in your ship and choose your destination from there. Whether that destination be a planet, a space mission, or a space base .etc I would hope space is completely free roam with fast travel options, but you can only ask for so much.

That would be cool, but tedious at times. I'm assuming that try would employ a sort of skyrim-like system in which you could pay to instantly go somewhere, or you could fly there yourself, at the risk of a more dangerous journey.

2 回复I don't really want to fly a spaceship from planet to planet...if you think about the vastness of our solar system, unless you are travelling really #$%@ing fast, it will take time from the game (for me) and become a dredful task. If you DO go really #$%@ing fast, whats the point? flying around in the atmosphere might be cool, but not in space.

1 回复I really hope that if we do get to fly our ships in space in certain areas with enemy ships, that we get newtonian physics.
