Wasn't it truly his generals that were responsible for all of that? In the history book I had in high school, it said that Hirohito was merely a puppet, not actually in control of his state. But I've received conflicting sources to this. In any case, I support the Japanese monarchy, so were he to have been removed from the throne, I would have supported his son becoming Emperor instead (the current Emperor).
