Baby's first job
OK, so I'm about to hand out my CV to a few stores in town and try get myself a job. I'm pretty nervous because they make it sound like they require the most charismatic, market-savvy young professionals they can get their hands on, but I'll apply anyway.
There is one question I'm afraid of that I could use some help with, though. When they ask "Why do you want to work here," what is it you're meant to say? Surely they wouldn't believe some cock-and-bull about valuing the company or whatever else, but they wouldn't ask if they weren't expecting a decent answer. Tips, guys?
Also, general advice would be appreciated.

I don't know if this is good answers, but it's the answer I gave, and I got hired. It was just as a lifeguard, but it was still a relatively formal process. For the "Why do you want to work here" question, I said that I was looking to make some money and I wanted to gain job experience before college. Probably a terrible answer, but it was the truth.

I just shoot the smoke about how I want the experience and to develop my skills as an employee so I can make it to the top and that this place could really help me out and that I would put in the time and patience to shoot my way up the corporate ladder. They're looking for long term employment (unless they're explicitly looking for high school/college students, then that means it's a solicitation job and they're just trying to get as much people to apply as possible because new employees will be gone within the week)
