The United States still have a considerably higher crime rate then the next on the list, the United Kingdom.
Notice how it says "total crimes"? It's not broken down per capita. That's 11 million crimes for 313 million Americans, and 6 million crimes for 62 million Britons. When I divide these "total crimes" by the population, I get a per capita rate of 0.104 for the UK and 0.037 for the United States.
