By downloading such content, you are encouraging it's production even if you don't pay for it. Viewing such material will put bad thoughts into your head and will warp your tastes.

Not every source of the material is a direct outlet of the industry. It may just be some random individual putting it up for download. Also, if it is downloaded, the amount of downloads does not really demand more production. The content would be free. There would be no profit for the person offering the downloads. Whether or not the distributor decides to upload more new content in response to the amount of downloads, is the sole choice of that individual. What happens to the tastes of the person downloading it is their responsibility.

How so? If you were using it in the privacy of your own home with noone else knowing about it, how would you be supporting it? Because a number on a screen showing that you downloaded it? That doesn't seem like much support at all, if any. What happens to the child in the picture is not the viewers fault or his actions. Someone can watch a video of someone getting killed or have a picture of the same thing and it is still legal. What happened to the person in the said images are not caused by the viewing of the material.

Two different laws you are trying to say are the same thing. Watching someone get killed or something like that isn't really illegal because you aren't violating anyone's privacy. As for CP it is violating the victims privacy and the victim cannot give consent to the picture being taken due to age. It seems to me you lack a basic understanding of victim's rights along with things like age of consent. The whole supporting the industry is just an additional reason for it to be illegal.
