Apparently some guy in New Jersey posted a picture of his eleven year old son with a .22 caliber rifle that has an external shell to look like it's AR-15 style. (Of course this rifle doesn't function at all like an AR-15, I've seen them on sale at sporting goods stores and they're just plastic shells with no real function other than looks.)
Apparently some people saw the picture, got their butts burning mad and contacted the police about it because they were "scared for the child's safety".
No charges were filed, but the father says that authorities asked to see his weapons (wut?) and that he denied them because they didn't have a warrant.
The police are saying that it was nothing personal and that they didn't try to pressure their way into his home or impede on his rights.
I have no idea how to wrap my head around what was said in the article. I'd like to get more information about the interaction with the father and the police, but the article is quite bare on details, and no other news sources are of any help because they're all just copy and pasting the original article onto their sites.

Big Government has convinced the sheeple guns are evil. It is probably good he knows how to handle a firearm in case someone tries to break into the home and his parents are not there.
