Those are probably Vex Portals, you can compare the Architecture on the Frames to other known examples of Vex Architecture and you see that they match :)
So is it a temporal portal? Fun possibillities abound.

Yea good connection. That would make sense. It does look the same, and having the portals come from a race makes them fit well into the cannon. Also, vex is the time travelling race am I correct? If that's the case a portal would make sense coming from them

Yep, Vex are the allegedly time traveling robots. I'm curious as to which time they are traveling from, and if when we go through the portal we end up in the same region of that planet though in the distant future where everything is completely trashed and ruined.

Now that's an interesting point. Not a portal from one region to another but a portal into another world, same geometry but the post apocalyptic version. I like that idea a lot. I hope regardless we are able to get an in depth look into where the Vex are coming from, why, etc. Which I'm sure we will
