I was looking forward to this game but damn it is just terrible.
Gearbox used the funding for A:CM for Borderlands 1 & 2, I hope Sega can sue them or something but I doubt they will be able to since Gearbox fulfilled the contract which was to release the game.
Anyone else disappointed by this?

It would have been pretty tough to make a good game out of this when you think about it... The Aliens movies and universe kind of scream "dark corridor shooter" so much that Aliens itself was a huge influence on a wide range of first person shooters in the early 00s. As a result, I think a Colonial Marines video game is a little unnecessary... a newer, fresher IP is the better way to go.

I knew A:CM wouldn't be game of the year, but I was expecting a decent 7/10 - 8/10 game with an interesting SP and MP. Kinda like what happened with MoH. There were all these press releases about how the game was a "labour of love" from the devs, then the end result is a mess. Shame, I was looking forwards to ACM. Good thing I didn't buy it.

1 回复
Gearbox used the funding for A:CM for Borderlands 1 & 2,
Proof of that? All we have is the word of some anonymous poster who says he works for SEGA. Just taking that last part at face value, it's still possible, and I say likely, for him to color his statements as favorable towards SEGA.

2 回复Angry Joe's review is spot on. So much lost potential. I enjoyed that part where you have to run and hide from the alien while you have no weapon. There should have been more creative moments like that.

1 回复Gearbox hasn't been good since the original Brothers in Arms games. Everything since then has been pure shit basically and them conning publishers out of their money doesn't help their image in my eyes either. Because not only are they hurting the publishers, but their hurting the fans who've been waiting for these games and their respective franchises as a whole. Of course Gearbox doesn't give a shit though because competing franchises suffering while their own gain traction is good news for them.

This is why I don't preorder, you don't actually know how the game is going to be until it's released. Gearbox pretty much straight up lied and made a fake demo to get everyone excited for the game, so then they would preorder it. That way, despite the game being lambasted for how terrible it was, it still sells a massive amount of games.
