>How certain jobs will only hire a certain gender. Like clothing and most retail stores will mainly hire women, while electronic and gaming type stores will mainly hire males. Every retail job I've had, never hired any males. I also remember wanting to apply to a EB games for a part time job a few years back and a old friend of mine advised me not too, regardless of my knowledge of gaming, they're skeptical of hiring females.

I hate when people say there aren't enough female politicians, or when people vote for a candidate to be the first female president [i]just[/i] because she would be the first. The best person for the job should be chosen, if it happens so that a bigger percentage of males or females are in the job, so be it.

Well, I've worked in two clothing stores. Both I had to sign to some sort of manual. There was a list of other signatures as well, of past and present employees, none of which were males. While I have see guys drop of their resumes, I really don't believe they were even considered. As for the females working in electronic stores, the few I go to (Future Shop, The Source, Stables, etc) I've probably seen one or two girls while going there. As for GameStop I have only seen one woman work in one, and she looked like the manager.

It just annoys me how some companies believe a certain job is more suited for a specif gender, when everyone is different. While it may be obvious most males are stronger and more fitted for heavy labor, doesn't make it that way in every case.

That trend though you have to admit is changing where jobs that are typically only for women are being given to men and vice versa. You should apply to gamestop get denied and sue for discrimination. That is if you have outstanding experience in gaming. But youd probably get hired and then what? Reminds me of that scene from Ted. "You get the job" "SHIT"

You're completely right. However I noticed this leans more towards the favor of women than men. Like carpentry jobs for example, will usually be given to a woman over a man regardless of skill and experience. Still not true for every company. My boyfriend (who also works in the carpentry field) says his boss will never hire a woman. I would, but I'm not currently looking for a job anyways. Trying to go to college.
