How different would the game be? and what would you think Bungie could add that 343 didn't?

3 回复Do you really want another Reacharound? Thank the universe it's out of Bungie's incompetent hands.

4 回复The story would have actually been in tune with canon, and thus enjoyable for me and not a piece of crap, and there would actually be a story line hinted at (if it was even going to be a trilogy that is) and loose ends to connect to. Even though CE was not intended to be anything more than a standalone game when it first came out, there were still plenty of loose ends to continue the story off of, like the Forerunners and the fact that there were more Halos out there, or that the Covenant was still out there as well and continuing to wage their genocidal war on humanity. Halo 4 though? Really, what more is there to do? The Derpdact is dead and gone, and the Composer destroyed...what more is there going off of the campaign alone? And one thing we definitely would not have gotten, as Spartan Ops seems to be hinting for Halo 5, a boring rehash of the first trilogy where we're fighting what's basically the Covenant all over again.

Cons: -I think the weapon sandbox would stay the same. Which means you're going to have useless weapons. -I'm probably going to get hated for this but I like the loadouts a lot better than the forced weapon spawns. Why? Because I like the freedom and being able to choose weapons for the map or gametype. Also to me it increases the challenge because each weapon, perk and AA causes you to change your tactics and strategy.

Honestly I do think it would have been better. Although at the same time I am really glad Bungie has moved on to another IP now so we can see what new and exciting things we'll get. But yea, I would have preferred if Bungie had kept ownership over Halo and just shelved it for 5 years then gave us Halo 4 a few years after Destiny was released. I played through Halo 4 and although many of the reviews said it feels just like a Bungie game I don't really agree. I can't even really explain why. Something to me just felt....off about it. It's a great game don't get me wrong, but I could definitely tell the developers had changed.

If Bungie did make Halo 4, I would imagine that instead of Spartan Ops, we would have an evolution of FireFight. In addition, Customs, Forge, community features would probably feel more proper and finished. On the negative side of things: I don't think Bungie could have done what 343 did with Halo 4's tech - the game is gorgeous for an Xbox 360 game. Also, I don't think the OST or gameplay would have been any better with Bungie at the helm (on the account that that was where Bungie was heading, as indicative by Reach).

Only two things I'm sure of is that the story wouldn't have been as good (unless Staten wrote it, maybe) and that the books would have been ignored. From a gameplay point of view, they would have kept a lot of the things that were left out, but they wouldn't have been as ambitious with it. Overall it would have reflected their declining interest in the series, like with Reach.
