Well, MS is trying to unify all of its platforms, and 8 happens to be the number this movement launched with. WP8 on smartphones, Win8 and RT on tablets and PC's, Xbox Whatever for the living room. But I doubt they would put an "8" in the title, since consoles are identified more with the hardware than software. People don't care about what OS their console runs as much as their smartphones or desktops.
