What if the new monarchy is like a kingdom of slavers who kill and hurt women and children?

i think the purose is, that there are multiple factions striving for the same goal, but how they get there is completely different. (yeah this has been done before in other series) for example, one faction could choose to deal with the antagonist by brutally cutting their way through every godamn person who get in their way (which happens to be alot of people) while another faction would want to take a more cautious approch, or another which [i]dosent[/i] want to solve the problem?
