What did we get after Frieza? Two androids who far outclass Frieza (what?) Cell, who is pretty awesome, and the Buu saga, which has like a few good episodes at the most.
Most of the cell saga was a serious step down from the Frieza saga, and only really got good when Perfect Cell started coming around, bar the fight with Piccolo and Android 17.
And my biggest gripe with this season is the main threat. Androids? Really? We go from the biggest tyrant in the galaxy, to a few androids which some scientist made?
And oh God the Buu saga. The only good bits in this saga were with Majin Vegeta and Ultimate Gohan, and both of these characters got shit on all over. Majin Vegeta sacrifices his life to save the world? LOLNO REGENERATION BITCH
Ultimate Gohan comes up and badass and beats the shit out of Super Buu? Lolno absorbed -blam!- you. The Buu saga is basically toryama sodomising Gohan and Vegeta fans. Not only that, but we got SSJ3. The worst transformation of them all. Pretty badass design, but it accomplished nothing but another BS level for Goku and ruined Goku's and Vegeta's fight.
tl;dr they should have stopped at frieza, and why did they even seperate dragonball and dragonball Z anyway?

1 回复Disagree. It should've ended at Cell. Goku died, and refused to be revived. Gohan developed a lot throughout the series, starting off as a scared toddler, and later becoming a fighter who surpassed his father. Goku passed the torch to his son. But according to Toriyama, Gohan just wasn't fit to be the main hero. Keep in mind that Toriyama's ideal protagonist is literally a brain-damaged man-child.

22 回复I enjoy Dragon Ball Z so much that more is always good to me. Even with how off the rails it got in the Buu saga, I still just loved DBZ. And as far as the major sagas go, I list them Cell Saga > Saiyan Saga > Frieza Saga > Buu saga. The Goku/Cell battle was the best in the series, the dynamic the Cell arena brought to it made it interesting, Piccolo/17 was fantastic, Trunks was a bad-ass, Android 16's speech to Gohan, Vegeta getting wrecked by Perfect Cell after being so confident. Most of the most memorable and best moments from the series for me come from the Cell saga.

8 回复It should of ended with the Cell saga, with Gohan becoming the main character. They're supposed to be releasing a Dragonball movie this year called, "Battle of Gods," and it's going to have Vegeta turn Super Saiyan 3 for the first time. :)

3 回复Agree 100% with OP. I've said this to my friends before. Namek and Freiza sagas had adventure, plot-twists, revenge, justice, expanded the canon, etc. Cell saga was just a bunch of Goku-killer robots coming out from nowhere, and Buu... I didn't even watch Buu all the way through because it was just silly. Vampires, magic, and some fat guy who turns people into chocolate? Jeez. Freiza, Emperor of the Universe, made way more sense as the final series end boss and Goku's sacrifice to save the universe was insanely heroic.

4 回复DBZ was alright for a short while, but I agree, it should have been shorter and more focused. The show ended up being like pro wrestling more than, y'know, Dragon Ball.

3 回复由Elegiac编辑: 2/8/2013 5:05:54 PMalthough I've stated that the buu saga was a bit dumb, it had its moments, like this 5 minutes right here 'you're not paying attention to my moves, piccolo taught you better than this, didn't he?' 'that could of been your head... and with all that training on the cliffs... '

I thought the buu saga was over doing it, and I really felt the Cell Saga should have ended "DBZ." If they wanted to keep it going it should have been called something different when Gohan took over. He also should have been the one who killed Buu, instead fan service demanded Goku return with another spirit bomb...

I haven't seen that show in years, but back in the day I liked the cell saga. Sure the friesa saga was epic and all that, but I had no complaints about the cell saga. The Buu saga was just weird, though I vaguely remember it.

18 回复No fatman it shouldve ended in the cell saga. It was the perfect ending. Goku stays dead, gohan finally embraces his saiyan side and becomes earth's new defender. Frieza shouldve been killed by goku and king cold or cooler shouldve been the one to come to earth to avenge him or the refridgerator family name. Maybe have one more saga with gohan being the main character. No goku. Just maybe.

6 回复It was supposed to end with Goku dying on Namek, but it was so popular it had to continue.

3 回复由Expunge编辑: 2/7/2013 6:51:14 PMI was pretty disapointed that the Androids were supposed to far outclass Frieza. Frieza was supposed to be all powerful. But that is the story of DBZ. Have a major super villain become a joke only 1 saga later. I also hate the way they made articial robots more powerful than organic. Mecha frieza was apparently even stronger than organic frieza which doesn't make sense to me. And I hate the fact that frieza has a dad. A frieza like character would have killed his dad.
