The sort by option is a new feature which has been implemented into this website. Well it can still be removed. The sort by option is set on popular by default. Most people wouldn't bother changing the option to latest or change it sometimes but then go back to popular option... This means the majority of threads don't even get 1 or 2 replies/comments. They just die and the lucky famous ones get popular. That's how it is now. Before it used to be threads get 10-20 posts and probably die and the popular ones stay popular for like 60-300 posts. It might even become more popular/hot. Now I also forgot about the time between each post. Most threads now a days which aren't very popular get posts every 30 minutes to even 5 hours. If lucky 10 minutes. But on the old bungie.net you would get like 5 posts in 10 minutes then the thread would either die or carry on getting more posts. The old sort by option which you couldn't edit or choose to your liking was better. The Pinned threads at the top, the super famous hot topics on the right side and hot topics in the middle and the new/some post threads at the top and hot topics near the bottom along with some threads which have a few posts... Just bring this old sort by option back and remove the new sort by option. I USED AND SO MUCH!!! Does anyone agree with me? I'm not the only one
