Good. So glad to see people are sensible.
To Americans who disagree with same sex marriage;
Do you support the Constitution?
Would you consider yourself a defender of the Constitution?
Would you risk your life to defend the constitution?
If you answered yes, you are now a supporter of gay marriage.
- In Loving V Virginia, the Supreme Court determined that marriage is a fundamental right.
- and under the 14th amendment, all citizens are guaranteed equal protection under the law.
If marriage is a fundamental right, and you deny a specific group of people their right to marry, that violates Equal Protection and is unconstitutional. Banning gay marriage is unconstitutional.
"But they have civil unions, that's good enough! It's basically equal to marriage, just seperate!"
Nope. See Supreme Court in Brown V Board of Education. "Separate but Equal" still violates Equal Protection.
If you support the constitution, you support gay marriage.

由Sir Cumsize编辑: 2/6/2013 9:33:48 PMYou don't understand. This isn't about rights for gay people. It's about redefining marriage. The reason most of us don't approve of gay marriage in America is because it will destroy the traditional definition of marriage. Straight couples receive special benefits in the US because of how they improve our society. They are more productive, they are better parents, and they have longer relationships. However, Gay marriaged are founded on the sex life (they average at eight sexual partners a year while married), while their children are often depressed and view themselves as gay. I find it funny that you mention the constitution. Gay marriage has always been something that the Liberals root for, and the majority of them despise the Constitution. Conservatives, on the other hand, hallow the Constitution whilst opposing Gay marriage. Source: I live in the gayest state, in the 3rd gayest city in America.

it does not violate the supreme court's ruling in Brown V. Board of Education. "equality of treatment is accorded when the races are provided substantially equal facilities, even though these facilities be separate." in no way does anyone deny gays the use of public facilities.
