Fan artist creates New Xbox logo

Just for fun, a fan named Cory Schmitz has taken some time to create a logo for the New Xbox. What do you think of the design? What if Microsoft was to actually head in this direction?

I don't like it that much to be honest. I get where it's coming from, and it would be a good design for when the xbox FIRST came out (perhaps). But the Xbox logo as it is now is already so iconic, this is a major step away from that. I get the design behind it, but the design is too asymmetric.
