Yes, and I freaking love it. I play for a local team called the Hooligans (representing lehigh valley) and I ended my season last November, waiting to play spring. When I practiced in November, I played Hooker and I played Scrum-Half, though since I wasn't 18 yet I wasn't able to play in the games.
Since I'll be 18 this Friday, I'll be applying for the USA rugby league and competing in the league this season :)
Unfortunately no. Rugby is very seldom put on TV, and even if it is, it comes on at an awkward time, like say, 11AM during school hours. I watch most of mine through youtubers like Polyrugger or lelostream, usually the day after a game happens.
I agree with you that both Hooker and Scrum-Half was an odd combination, but since it was just practice and I wouldn't be played, they let me practice whatever position they needed filled in. Hooker and Scrum-Half just happened to be the most common holes. In all honesty, I fit more into the back than the front, since I'm pretty small compared to everyone else.
