People who don’t drink usually don’t like being around people who are drinking from my experience. So, unless they were there for something else, it was usually a bit tricky giving them a reason to walk through the door, especially since the point of the RP was usually to interact with Blaze, so they’d be coming in alone. Plus, a few of them were actual children. :p I pulled some real crazy stunts to get them through the door! Rainy day outside, seeking shelter, teleported in under mysterious means, there to meet their client for an assassination contract… Good fun!

id make a joke about skullgirls and child characters but that would come off more rude than funny so quite simply fair enough my good lad seemed like good fun though :)

Haha, well, it wasn't anything weird like that. I had characters of all stripes. That's one thing that was really fun about Blaze's Bar, is I could just throw in a character from anywhere, not just my player characters. I used it as a testing ground for some of my side characters, or to mess around with some characters from books I had planned but ended up scrapping. If you might recall, Blaze's RP character was a vampire, and that was actually because I went into Blaze's Bar one day with a vampire character from a scrapped book of mine!

ahhh the age old "i was gonna write a book and now all i have is this character" many such cases didnt know/remember the vampirism was from you though, we learn new lore every day!

But, for every book I manage to sit down and write, there are many more ideas that never saw the light of day. Some of them are half finished, some of them were just concepts that never got fully fleshed out, and in two specific cases, the first draft of the book is actually done, it's just hot garbage and had to be scrapped. But yeah, one day I walked in with a little vampire girl named Sewn. If you're curious, I'll stick a description of her in the spoiler. [spoiler]Sewn was a blind vampire from the notorious Clan Filias. Clan Filias was known for its cruelty towards humans, treating them like slaves, and cattle. However, Sewn was not just a peasant vampire girl, she was an aristocrat, and as an aristocrat, her family had many human slaves. For the most part, the other vampires she knew dismissed her as weak, and helpless due to her blindness, but it was the human slaves assigned to take care of her that truly knew and understood her. And, as a result, she was much more sympathetic to humans than her kin. Another clan, Clan Moiran, was striving towards equality with humans, and were making good progress. They had created a police force known as the Vyr, whose entire purpose was to investigate vampirism-related crimes, as owning thralls and the like was illegal in Clan Moiran territory. But, soon their ambitions spread beyond Clan Moiran, and though they were hesitant, Clan Moiran ultimately gave the okay for the Vyr to conduct a raid on Clan Filias territory, hoping to end the cruelties happening there. As a result, Clan Filias was basically entirely wiped out. Sewn's family, however, managed to escape the slaughter. As they passed through Clan Moiran territory, Sewn's human thrall knew she would be happier here, as her family was fairly abusive, and helped her escape, even though it cost him his life. Thus began her tale, as she tries to find a way to the Clan Moiran capital where she could finally be free, while also trying to hide from her family who's searching for her.[/spoiler] It was a two way street, actually! Meeting Sewn made Blaze decide to become a vampire, and the creation of Blaze's vampire character in turn led to the creation of a new character for me, Selicy Cross, who became Blaze's vampire mentor. In turn, Selicy had a few Offtopic stories I wrote. I was planning on doing a crossover with Unseelie--which she did give me the okay for--but I wound up losing the Selicy Cross tag, and lost motivation to write the next part. I then tried to turn Selicy Cross into a book, and realized the story I had just didn't really work in its present state. All my vampire books seem to fall apart. :(

the concept of vampire children, especially when they dont age, is kinda terrifying to think about. something so charged with violence, especially like, textually -blam!- violence, stuck in the body of a child, is a whole new brand of horror to add onto what vampires already have edit: ah, curse the filters, hope the kind of violence that vampires represent is obvious regardless
