由Dooodley编辑: 5/19/2025 7:16:43 PMWhat's the definition of casual here? There seems to be this misconception that end-game can only be fireteam based - and that's where I think the issue is with this game. The bulk of this game is balanced for solo play and it seems to be how most people play (looking at various sites with population stats). The problem is that almost all solo activities are also highly baseline - meaning that people will eventually run out of things to do and are rarely challenged. Sure, you can solo grandmasters and dungeons but they have the issue of being really time consuming when you play alone, because there's no room for error. It's also a highly artifical difficulty since the players have to come up with ways to challenge themselves. So yeah, I agree that we need end-game but there also has to be some end-game for solo players - something that is challenging but at the same time won't take all day to complete or in practice is ten times harder than it would have been to run a raid with five other people. I actually ran one of the Nightmare hunts on the Moon yesterday - for the sake of a flawless master run - and with the modifiers for the day I'd say that it pretty much hit the mark for what solo end-game could be. It was way harder than a flawless master Lost Sector. There's also the issue with solo players not being able to complete trophies etc. As a solo player you're usually able to pretty easily complete 95 % of all things. That's when they hit you with that last 5 % that require you to either run a raid or jump from PvE to PvP. It renders those initial 95% completely moot and makes people not care about any of it at all.
yeah making the game casual
Nothing in the game is beneficial to casuals. What is casual in D2? The accessibility of Light & FT Scaling? The game is anything BUT casual. Casuals=Player population. Destiny some of the worst retention of any franchise on this front.
