This game feels like a job, not a game. I don’t WANT to grind for anything, I feel that I NEED to grind for weapons, armour, etc.
Like it’s a hobby, turned into a job over the years.

1 回复由Ghostfire239编辑: 5/22/2025 6:02:38 PMYeah I know how you feel. I started taking breaks for months at a time back in Wotch Queen in hopes of rekindling my interest in the game and at first that worked, but I’ve noticed that over time those breaks were becoming less and less effective. Right now I am playing to finish the season pass, since I had barely made progress up until now. Once I finish I think I’ll probably stop playing again for a while (unless Edge of Fate somehow turns out to be phenomenal, but I highly doubt that) I’ve accepted that I simply don’t love Destiny anymore. It’s been that way for a while. I definitely miss the feeling of loving this game though.

8 回复I took a 3 week break…came back tonight to play some pvp for the heck of it…same old same old: - lots pulses, more autos now, same team shooting overload - zero sniping - minimal HCs - terrible matchmaking Not sure what to do, maybe another break…or someone point me to another game!!!

This Barrow Dyad quest is the biggest waste of my time. I have spent my entire weekends free time just trying to get Hatching & I'm still getting "Writ of the deep found lacking" we're not all streamers. This isn't my job, it's supposed to be a game, it's supposed to be fun.

3 回复I feel like as people playing have become more dedicated, the game has had to get more depth and difficulty to keep up with what people demand, and this leads to feelings like what you're expressing here. The cop out answer of course is that you dont actually NEED to do anything. You can play at your own pace, with your own loadouts that you find fun, and do most things in the game just fine. But that of course is disingenuous. We all know that as the game has gotten gradually harder there has been a growing expectation to show up to more difficult activities with things that are more optimal, the point where some things you CANT do unless you use very specific loadouts, ar least not easily. for example look at Expert court of blades where people on LFG wont take you unless you use microcosm on the most optimal chaos reach or thundercrash build. Can you do expert court of blades without that, yes of course. But it makes it unneccesarily difficult and no one wants you on the team. So you have to have the knowledge to know whats the best builds for it. You have to get microcosm which is kind of hard to get on its own because you have to have some meta buildcrafting knowledge to beat the cooperative focus missions. And thats just one activity as an example, there are dozens. The game has so much depth theres an optimal thing for every individual thing you can do down to individual strikes. Yes you can chopse to ignore it, but lets be honest, thats not entirely realistic. I think D2 is a better game than D1 because of the depth and replayability. I like there being more grind and more thought involved, and more dfficulty. I think it makes the game last a lot longer during dry content periods and ultimately just makes it more fun. But if you arent prepared for the commitment then yeah it feels like a lot and its understandable. Its part of the problem with this game's identity crisis of drawing both hardcore MMO players and people that just like a casual looter shooter

It's a video game, and if it isn't fun to play, then it's either time to take a break, move on to something else, or don't take the game seriously.

That’s on you bro. Been playing this game since it came out and never felt a “need” to grind for anything. If you aren’t playing because you like the action, you shouldn’t be playing. Take a break, wait for fate to drop.

Although this isn't a group therapy session. Are you struggling to solve these personal issues you mentioned? Advice can be given but on an internet forum it's too easy to misinterpret. If you struggle to change how you feel towards something speaking to someone face to face is a good 1st step.

4 回复
I don’t WANT to grind for anything
I'm confused, because why would a person that doesn't want to grind, engage with a genre of game that is notoriously grind intensive?
