Maybe.......
if crucible had a system where you were matched against people of similar skill level, and prestige was earned by beating the best, instead of how many lower skilled enemies were wiped out,
if the 3 classes had special powers that were equally balanced and not biased towards a specific character,
if cheating was taken seriously, properly policed and perpetrators were permanently banned,
if the infrastructure was put in place so that skill determined the outcome of a match, not what platform you are on, or where you are in the world, or how fast your connection speed was,
then maybe, there would be no need to waste resources on gimmicks like heavy metal, and this forum would not have hundreds of complaints constantly from genuine PvP players 💁♂️
its a party playlist dude, its not made for "genuine pvp players" its made for everyone to have something silly to do and get a new archetype sparrow for their efforts.
The way the event card is set up seems to be more of an experiment for next dlc when they introduce the portal so no surprise some of it doesn't work. people begging for 3 enhancement prisms is crazy.
The mode is fun, sure when ur not playing with friends it can seem like u losing every game but thats about the experience of any matchmade activity in destiny. Even if its only fun for a couple of hours, the mode was not made to be played for 8 hours a day, i finished the event card in two days, two separate sessions of maybe a couple hours each
Hey friend, I'm glad that you're enjoying it, but you are missing my point.
The main game is flawed to hell, but instead of fixing things, they waste resources on these "party games" as you call them.
It's good that they are experimenting with new stuff, but these should be added when the game is running 100% and the main issues are resolved.
Plus, party games should be an added option, rather than a replacement for one of the main PvP modes.
Trials is not a "Main PvP mode" its barely populated (yes i know its improving but if u have $2 instead of $1 u still only have $2)
The game is extremely flawed and probably always will be, should they fix the issues? yes. Are the issues you pointed out critical to the game function? not really.
This season has another couple months to go and content is already feeling extremely dry. The nerf on consume orbs makes court of blades pointless, the nether just didnt meet the hype, pvp is well pvp to be fair, its never been great and its improvements arent much. Rite of the nine is more annoying than challenging, the explore mode is a nice feature for new players.
But overall, there's not much to do right now and wont be for a while, so they throw a party game that clearly didnt take them very long to make considering how bare bones it is, but it's fun and unserious and just something to do which the game desperately needs.
