Void Souls/Child of the Old Gods

As is Void souls are really inconsistent in activating to seek out their targets and having a mind of their own. Which normally results in your void soul kamaizakizing itself into everything but your target. From launching at the skybox, ceiling, ground and or walls. Or where your last enemy you killed was. Due to these issues I personally feel that being able to re pick up the void soul and redeploy it should be a default option. With diminishing returns or a cap to how many times you can pick it back up. Unless Briarbinds is equipped. I personally also feel that you should be able to consume your child as an option to apply weaken around you and either ability regen or health depending on your rift. While Briarbinds is equipped. Also Ruinous Effigy should be reworked and have synergy by changing the Transmutation orbs to be Void souls on kills! The Void souls can still suppress, weaken and now apply volatile on light attacks .

      • I think one change they should definitely make is to make it easier to retrieve the amped soul, like casting rift pulls the strongest living one if there is one instead of creating another. lost him in the awoken mall? no need to make a new child, Briarbinds now grabs him by the arm angry and pulls him back for you! no more needing to sift through the hoards of hive and army of cabal, embarrassingly calling out for your Childs name "Soul! SOUL!". Upvote this comment and comment "petition signed" so that (hopefully) bungie will implement this change.

        I tell you what it needs and how it can be implemented more efficiently and effectively. No, it does not need a major buff. It has a good debuff, decent range, is pretty fun to use and good to utilise in your build, it's good already. It should however, be loaded like a form of ammunition, when you use your Class ability you should be able to load up a Void Soul and shoot it at the desirable location. It doesn't instantaneously go straight to said location once fired but it will traverse pretty quickly, much quicker than it currently travels. Slowing and damaging on impact and the continues to do what it usually does once it's arrived at its location. This way Void Soul becomes more of a "skill shot" but is much more reliable in traversing to the desirable general location you initially wanted it to go.

      • Void souls either are really consistent or not, and there’s not a lot in between. However, for them to apply suppress, weaken and volatile would destroy PVP. It would turn gameplay into an already more passive style waiting around for a rift to guarantee a suppress. For PVE though, I’m fine with the idea.

        YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY HIGH! These things are incredibly annoying and seek out the target incessantly. The only time they don’t is when the target dies before they attach. The fact you would recommend this tells me the kind of player you are….

      • So from what I can tell playing void warlock more than any other character is the following. 1.) There must be clear line of sight larger in width than the void soul to reach its target. Peek shooting will often prevent the soul from targeting opponents. 2.) If the target dies in a single hit it will not leave to go after others. If the target dies NOT in a single hit, it will track towards the nearest opponent on screen. 3.) If a target does from multiple hits but the void soil does not reach the target before it dies, and there are no other targets on screen it will often just fly into a wall unless another enemy moves into the vicinity of the void soul.

        They should also either greatly increase the health (not the timer) or just flat out make it immune to damage in pve. Nothing worse than a single exploder target one shotting your child. While they're at it, fix it in pvp. It sucks when a void soul gets sent at one player only for them to die mid flight, then it goes to whatever other target is nearby.

      • Yep. The amount of times I’ve landed shots yet it doesn’t leave my side is laughable and then to have take a corner early and sit on a ledge is also laughable. It’s the most worthless ability in the game. But when it works it is rewarding when it works.
