I get Bungie doesn’t want to bring back crafting, but the current RNG system makes it practically impossible to get a god roll. It’s not even worth attempting. I’d spend MORE time grinding for red borders than I will for the 1/3000 chance a god roll drops in the wild.
To compromise, I think Bungie should enable crafting on barrels and mags for enhanced weapons. This would improves the odds from 1/3000 to 1/144, which is still significant effort, but at least it’s feasible enough to grind for.

2 回复How about they implement an AI tracker built into the loot system for the collections tab that remembers all the rolls you have gotten on every single weapon. So you can pull out any of those rolls out of the collections.

I think some are missing a key point about crafting. Crafting allows solo/casual players, who may not have the time or skills to obtain raid-quality weapons (i.e., the really neat stuff), an opportunity to build decent weapons to keep them in the game. I've watched videos of high-end players running through dungeons, melting their way through any opposition with their high-end weapons. As a solo/casual player who doesn't do raids and dungeons, I have to make do with whatever I obtain in PVE to keep up with the game. Also, as a casual player, I don't have the gift of free time to farm (and farm, and farm) to obtain a god roll. The ability to craft weapons gives me a chance to keep up, albeit (admittedly) barely.

3 回复"We've heard your feedback, and we're removing the ability to choose your barrel and mag perks on craftable weapons now, to keep them on par with random drops. They will now be randomly assigned when you craft the weapon. Keep grinding, Guardians!" -Bungie, probably

2 回复I’ve focused over 250 “scavenger’s fate” shotguns so far and I’m yet to get -blam!- roll Bungie are out of their mind i swear

just bring crafting back to seasonal weapons, they will not be farmable next year outside of xur and banshee which isnt farming so like why bother while this is the case on enchanced adept raid weapons, I feel like this could be extended to dungeon loot as well tbh.

Bungie will never face that their in game economy is completely dead. Mats, weapons, armor etc. it’s pointless to not have crafting when the arsenal Is so large. If I don’t get a good roll on an RNG gun I’ll just run something else. Bungie likes to pretend like there is an economy. It’s not relevant for the top 20% of played and oppresses the bottom 20%.

PREACH! I pray this reaches bungies ears, as a vet player I dont care how good a gun is I am tired of grinding for crap barrels on the 3rd and 4th perks I want. If I cant get the two perks to drop in over 40 tries already in the wild I should at least be rewarded with the ability to choose my barrels. How come I can play an activity once a week for a guaranteed craftable deepsight or can use my harmonizers to make the perfect 5/5 but yet I have to play for 3 weeks straight grinding an activity just to get the two perks I want and crap barrels. The ability to change barrels already exists on some adepts, make it available on all enchanables please I beg.

2 回复What they should do instead is let us reforge weapons to an extent. After all, crafting "removed the satisfaction of obtaining a random weapon", but no one is ever satisfied with random weapons. NO ONE with any sanity is going to be satisfied with a Boondoggle for example with To The Pain/ Harmony and 6 stability (yes, it can get that low). Players are going to be satisfied with a trait combo that's good, and even more so when the stats are high enough to use effectively. I mean, unless you're on PC, you're not hitting full bursts to the head with a weapon like Unloved for example in ADS beyond 20 meters tops if you've got a whopping 40 stability because for some reason, hip firing with burst hand cannons is more stable. The solution? Since they would rather crafting be a "catch up system", they should do the following: * Let us reforge weapons to an extent. Dismantling a certain number of a weapon should let us add or reroll 1 perk on a non-craftable weapon. * We need to be able to craft, focus, and reliably target farm more weapons, especially dungeon gear. * Adjust focusing costs or increase the likelihood of a good perk combo accordingly. If we should have to spend 3 engrams or 25000 glimmer for a weapon that was 1/3 or less a season ago, we should get triple perks or be 3x more likely to get good combos. Right there, I just solved everything. I solved the "problem" crafting created by giving players incentive to just keep grinding their specific weapons. Get a 3/5 god roll and save up the next (insert #) drops so you can add to it/ reroll a perk later. Players will be satisfied even with trash rolls because they'll be that much closer to making their weapon perfect. I solved the problem crafting was meant to alleviate/ fix. And I solved the insane costs vendors can have for their weapons. Everyone wins.

All the frontiers footage show enhanced barrel, mags etc.. really don't know how much of game changer that would be . I don't think we ll see crafting come back except for some exceptions. Crafting took the engagement time down, hence less time to buy stuff from Evervrese.
