That's a pretty terrible comparison. D2 already has xp boosts that last the entire season for customers. It also has weekly rep or drop boosts for all players for free.

  • Taking your statement, the servers being down longer than they were announced to be means that you get less XP during your play than you would have if the servers were available the moment they were originally announced to be. People make time for this game to play it. And when they are ready to do so but the game isn't available at that time because the maintenance got extended by another 2 hours due to some internal screw-up on Bungies side or their contracted Suppliers (Server Hosts, etc.), then that means those people will lose those 2 hours they could have played the game. For some people, that's their entire free time for the evening before work the next day. When Bungie (or literally any company) says "hey, our service will be available again at X time" but then isn't, that's not delivering the service on promise.

    None of that addresses the fact that the other company compensated you by giving you something that Bungie already gives its customers. Edit: *a worse version of what Bungie already gives its customers
