While Bungie has made some... Interesting decisions recently, destiny is still an okay game. I suggest buying the standard edition of Light fall, as you will gain access to strand and the new season, arguable the best we've had in a while.
Some crazy stuff happened in the story, but you will enjoy your return

At this point I feel like it's not really fair to suggest any one DLC over another. Having taught someone through the storylines of each one, even with all that knowledge equipped the story is still FRUSTRATINGLY confusing for a New Light.
