When are legendary shards being canceled and do I need to do anything to redeem them for something?

Some things will have their shard cost removed next season and the shards will be completely removed in final shape. If you want to get rid of some now you can buy banners at Hawthorne, cores/prisms at rahool, or trade 10 for a phatasmal fragment on the moon to save to convert to glimmer later assuming they dontnremove that option in the future too.
