Gambit is inarguably the most Destiny-unique activity in the game.
The only thing worse than designers' straightforward neglect of [core activity] Gambit.. is their refusal to talk about it like actual humans.
Even a [i]gesture[/i] of transparency on the topic would be refreshing. Instead, we players (further demoted internally to "fans") get dismissive condescension, paired with tone-deaf comms about ..everything... From Bungie.
Courtesy goes both ways.

1 回复just got infinite colony-ied by the invaders, pve part is fine, could update. like add new boss/mechanic replace high value target with lucent hive/tormentors. disable heavy weapons when invading.

3 回复Ban exotic heavies and 99% of the problems in the mode vanish overnight. I know they won’t do it because it goes against one of their stated philosophies, but the amount this small change would do to help gambit is immense. There’d still be some outliers (Izanagi’s, Winter’s Wrath, etc.) but they’re nowhere near as brain dead as things like Truth, Xenophage, Eyes of Tomorrow, Gjallarhorn, etc.

11 回复the invasion system needs to be reworked, as it stands right now, invaders have WAY too much influence over the outcome of the match. also the wall hacks and overshield need to go. that is the most unathletic, 5’nothing, chubby cheek wannabe aspect of gambit, by far.

1 回复To anyone still saying "gambit is trash anyways". Yea and why is that? Because it has not seen a single content update after it launched in 2018. No, it even got the majority of content removed. A unique set of gambit prime weapons, multiple armor sets, the gambit prime game mode (which was actually fun), half of the maps got removed, not a single new map in exchange. Yea i would also agree that gambit is bad. That's for the reason that Bungie doesn't care at all about it, didn't put ANY single bit of dev time into it and still wants us to play it. It's not the game modes fault that this company is awful.

2 回复I think the whole eververse store killed modes since all those rewards are now not chasable using gameplay but straight up paywall . Be nice to empty eververse and put rewards into modes so players could chase them especially modes like Gambit and Crucible that have the least rewards

Gambit is fun, but fundamentally flawed. They need to make the scores less exponential to reduce steamrolling and expand the mode to more unique maps. I wish we had a Throne World map and could encounter Lucent Hive and House Salvation. That would be a lot more interesting. Also, the change to use to same enemy spawns for each map each season made me not want to play Gambit anymore. The mode is somehow more repetitive now then it was at the end of forsaken!

They should sunset and outright remove gambet, it's not fun and full of sweat lords on the enemy team that massacre your team like it was a trails all over and your team is filled with sabotagors and stupid people who can't aim for their life.

I submit Ubusofts Game The Division's "Dark Zone" , where players had to battle AI for loot, then battle each other to keep the loot , and it came out before Gambit It is not Destiny Unique, and PvEvP is not a Bungie exclusive, it has been around a while Furthermore it was outright rejected by the Destiny community who prefer to keep PvE and PvP separate -
Gambit draws its inspiration form the Souls series and their invaders who are red. While it was super fun when it first came out, it no longer holds the same captivating appeal. It really needs new maps and a refresh. Mechanics need a refresh too. I always thought it would be fun to have a faction crash the party and Drifter opens the invasion portal for the other team and everyone comes over to help repel the enemy forces. I avoid playing it because I’ve play a boat load of it, it’s kind of boring now.

14 回复The State of Play clearified what we all already knew: Gambit has been abbandoned to itself. We could hypothesize why this happened, but in the end speculations are not answers.
