There's a massive diffraction in looking for player at skill vs near. If said players cant be found of skill it pulls whoever's meaning you end up matching players you shouldn't be matching.
Skill based matchmaking matches players that have the same stats as you, similar skill expands those parameters then expands them further should players not be found. Under real skilled based matchmaking I would never match flawless noir unbroken players.
Every single smbb system that has ever existed expands the parameters. They have to, otherwise it'll never find you a game. What are you even saying? The 2 things are the same thing.
At all skill levels it will search for people at your skill level then expand the parameters if it can't find enough people.
The point is, this is exactly what sbmm is. I have no idea what this conversation has become.
