You have to do kills with the gun, not just own it and do kills

All it says is "Earn victory within the Crucible" which usually means 'keep playing the crucible until the catalyst drops as a post-match reward.' [EDIT]: Yup, you were right. Just did a couple of matches after a dinner break, and it popped. Bungie really need to update the description of that acquisition method in the exotic catalysts tab.
