Is it a magic weapon that already uses a template, like a sword or axe, or is a brand new thing?

Well, in that case it would be a sentient weapon, since it talks to you. Do you use a command word for its special ability, or is a based on a charge system, or is it simply whenever you want it to happen. Judging from what I know of this weapon, it also has the attunement property, so in order for someone to actually use its properties, they need to attune to it via some different methods, like being a certain class or race. Basically, you gotta make friends with the sword.

So that’s that magical effect done, if your leaving it. Just put the basic sword stats depending on what you’re using, maybe add a plus to hit or damage,, and that should be good! You probably want the opinion of others though, I’m just going off of the players handbook and DM’s guide.
