Bungie, please remove the restrictions on Armor and Mod combinations
It's annoying that we have to have specific elements (Void, Arc, Solar) for certain mods. Some Exotics have no place in certain builds now because of it.
Armor 2.0 was supposed to enable us to have more customization options but with the combo restrictions and the insane cost of materials (and especially glimmer) needed, creating a build just isn't fun. It's a chore.
Funnily enough, with the increased number of options and the ability to make very specific builds ( or at least attempt to), I've put less time into builds now than I ever have.
Some of the restrictions seem like they exist just for the sake of having restrictions.

B U M P Not only is it silly that you need to get armor pieces that have the correct element type for the mod you want, but if you roll the right element type, the stats might be way off! It seems like I find the armor piece with the perfect stats only to sigh in defeat when I realize it’s the wrong element type for the mods I wanted to put on. With the weapons?? No problem! Mess around with them, mix and match. I’d L O V E the option to REROLL MASTERWOKS, but I’ll save that for another day... Same thing though: you spend a lot of time waiting for a random roll and it has the wrong masterwork stat. COME ON GUYS! Power to the user, say no to RNG grinding!

You do know this is a test run, right? And we are also only a week into the new system? I think it's good that this post has gotten popular, since I do think that matching elements on armor to elements on mods should allow that mod to be cheaper, rather than exclusive to those sets. But Bungie is testing the water with this, and personally I didn't bother much with armor until the change. Overall, keep in mind that this is a fresh build and that it hasn't been done in Destiny before. Chances are if the idea catches on, Bungie will change up how it works to make it a bit easier to implement.

3 回复But armor is really easy to get with the element you want. once you hit 900 just token spam shaxx or zavala. find the element you want and upgrade it. Now that you can trans mog it's easy as hell.

I literally said this when they revealed the armor and was bombarded with. You so negative, it’s not even here how are you complaining from idiots with no ability to think without Bungie telling them how to. Glad to see everyone is coming around to some common sense. This system sucks

2 回复Agree, mods locked to elements actually give you LESS options for making a build to ‘play how you want’. I wouldn’t have minded if the elements on armor just gave you options for elemental resistance etc, but mods themselves shouldn’t be locked to elements at all. Never mind the ridiculous cost of fully masterworking armor, costs way too many cores.

Agreed 100%. Um... Bungie? We caught you in your lie. So, how's about you make good on that lovely statement "Play the way you want" and remove the restrictions that literally force us to play the way you want us to. It was a bad design choice. Yes, I know Luke won't want to hear that. So, here's the sugar coated version: "The players seem to dislike the elemental restriction on armor mods and a lot of people are asking to have them removed."

5 回复Reading comments sounds like people don’t get it. What if you love running recluse and Ace? You can only pick one weapons to have armor perks for because hand cannons are void armor and subs are solar. What if you want to run hand cannon (void) sub (solar) and a sword (arc) how is armor 2.0 going to help with that? I’ll tell you it doesn’t. Armor should be armor and you put the mods I. You want. There shouldn’t be any element restrictions on it. It on the list of stupid things Bungies done. One of the top dumbest

2 回复I was on board all the way up until the elemental affinity. That’s just too much. Like really? What does element have to do with anything other than to add yet another grind opportunity. I can just hear the designers spitballing random ideas on how to add more grind, and that was the best one they could come up with. I wonder if they even think it makes sense, or if they just added it in because they had to.
