Idk, last time I played RDO was a month or two ago. Not sure what updates have come out since. Did it fix the economy or anything? Oh, have they added invite only or solo lobbies yet? I just want to hang out with my friend without getting griefed by the toxic idiots that online games love dumping in my lobbies.

由epicperon编辑: 9/25/2019 2:56:06 PMThe economy is much better. Story missions pay out a lot more and they added random stranger encounters like in story mode. The new Frontier Pursuits also make getting money significantly easier. I made $600 the week the update came out just by grinding one of the Pursuits (trader). As for griefers, you can do pretty much anything in the game in defensive mode. It’s significantly better than GTAO’s passive mode because you can still pull out weapons and do basically everything the game has to offer that doesn’t involve PvP. Hell you can even grind Pursuits while in defensive mode (except for long Trader sell missions but the short ones are better anyway). You won’t have to worry about other players at all. No solo lobbies though. Plus the game punishes people for attacking others by allowing players to “press charges” against them, which increases their bounty and hostility and decreases their honor. With higher hostility, players are unable to go into defensive mode and are marked on the map from farther away so you can better avoid them. Though it’s also worth mentioning that they made the combat faster paced than story mode. They raised fire rate across the board, decreased the time it takes for weapons to return to maximum accuracy, increased movement speed while aiming, and removed some of the accuracy penalty for moving while aiming. It feels different from story mode, and better imo. The old mobility felt clunky and was part of the reason I got bored of story mode.

If all this is true, I might even give it another shot. When I was playing you could do pay that one dude to Max your honor high or low, I played all the high honor missions that were available visited that shit and started on the low honor stuff. What a huge -blam!-in mistake that was, turned my icon red and got the opportunity to be shot at by everyone remorselessly. Tried fishing to make money with a friend multiple times, never did it once without being shot at or griefed. If there were a feature where your honor doesn't change how other people see you that would be just great, cause I wanted to just see what having low honor was like, once I figured out it was just a shitfest it was after they got rid of that guy who could change your honor.

Yeah honor doesn’t affect the color of your blip on the map. Or how other players see you at all. It just affects what missions you have available to you and how npcs treat you. Now map color is affected by the new hostility mechanic. Hostility is increased by killing low hostility players that don’t attack you first. Low hostility players are blue on the map and you can only see their blip when they’re close to you, medium hostility players are pink on the map and can be seen from farther away, and high hostility players are red on the map and can be seen regardless of distance. Hostility also affects your ability to go into defensive mode. It’s like GTAO’s passive mode except you can still fight npcs. Just not other players. Whenever you damage another player, regardless of if they attack first or not, you are prevented from going into defensive mode. With medium hostility you have to wait longer before being able to go into defensive mode. With high hostility you can’t go into defensive mode at all. And like I said before, you can do pretty much every activity in the game while in defensive mode.

So I hopped on rdr 2 online... While I was reading about how to enable defensive mode I got shot in the head, this was within 5 minutes of starting my session. So I got it enabled and the game went fairly well, don't really like the prices of everything, but it is what it is Tried the trader thing, seems an easy way to make cash (so far) but it seems your camp can be raided. Tried a legendary bounty hunt, actually kind of fun, knocks you out of defensive mode though, tried to go to a fast travel post and forgot to turn it back to defensive mode, got shot in the head while I was in the fast travel menu. Immediately switched defensive mode back on, saw that somebody else had taken out my attacker and revived my savior's horse. I'm annoyed that I get shot in the head the moment I'm out of defensive mode though. I'm trying to give it a chance, really, but the other dudes playing make it hard for me to justify playing it when I could be playing borderlands with my friends.

There’s still that many griefers? Damn. When I played I went entire days without running into them. Were these low hostility players that were just killing you out of nowhere? If so, having a posse can deter them. I usually only play with a friend and just seeing that you’re in a posse is enough to get most people to leave you alone. You also could’ve just gotten put in a bad session. And about the camp raiding thing, it’s not other players that can, it’s npcs like in GTA. It also happens very very rarely, also like in GTA.

I just seem to have bad luck when it comes to Rockstar online games. Might be that the great state of Ohio is just filled with griefers, but I just seem to draw out the worst in some folks. Last time I played rdr2 online was with a friend, doing story missions for cash (think it was the one with the wolf you had to kill and bring back), one guy got grouped up with us and immediately set out to ruin the mission, he ended up staying my horse with the wolf on it and running away to ruin the mission (does whistling cause your horse to buck then off online like it does in single player?). Hell, last time I played GTA online was alone. Tried to play story missions (didn't get a single one) game kept putting us into different sessions every time we failed, eventually got put into a server where I was the only one speaking English. Dudes I was with actually seemed prepared for the mission for once. They insisted I get in their car, it was locked so I couldn't get in their car, they spoke a tiny bit of English and said "get in car" I repeated as clearly as possible that it was locked and I couldn't (even typed out messages) ended up trying to communicate with them for 15-20 minutes before I gave up and blew all of us up.

Yeah it could just be bad luck. I’ve never really ran into any story griefers because I never do public matchmaking. I have had a couple camp sell missions ruined by other players though. But don’t even get me started on GTA... And about the horse thing, yes. If you whistle for it while another player is riding it, it’ll buck them unless they’re in your posse.
