I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s impossible to say at this point how much I’ll like the endgame, which is really all that matters. They’ve added 8 man raids this time around, so I’m hoping that’s a worthwhile addition. Didn’t really care for the “incursions” in Division 1.
I played Division 1 for over 500 hours, and all within the first 3-4 months it was out. If I get even half of that out of this game I’ll be happy. I do have to say that the smaller and separated dark zones seem like a negative for me. The first game I spent most of my time -blam!-ing with people in the dark zone. Most people didn’t like it, but I thought it was great. I really hope the smaller zones don’t mean the DZ will have reduced importance this time around.
Day One Division 1 player.
Relax....THIS game bears almost NO resemblance to the game you (and I) played back then.
The Division 2 is based on what the game had turned in to by Patch 1.8...which was over a year after you'd walked way.
Massive had in the mean time overhauled the game so that the end-game felt more like the campaign....and completely overhauled the design of the end-game in response to player ideas and feed back at "community summits".
But unlike Bungie, Massive didn't just talk to streamers. They also invited average players to two seperate "summits".....as well as sent out surveys to the community as a whole.
The different DZs are designed for different kinds of play. One will give you the ganking opportunities you want. But it will also allow people like me who have ZERO interest in subjecting myself to that to avoid you. Either by staying out of the DZ altogether....or going to one of the DZs where there's a more level playing field.

Sounds bad to me. Defeats the purpose of what the DZ was intended for. I don’t really know how each zone is different, but putting all the gankers in one small zone will just lead to no one using it. The beauty of the DZ was the game of cat and mouse. The “will they or won’t they” turn on me. If there’s a zone where that’s all it is, then it’s pointless. Like I said though I haven’t really looked into this myself and I’m merely basing this reaction off of what I could gather from what you said.
