It's part of the reason only a fraction completes the raid. Some don't because they stop playing after the stories, because endgame stuff doesn't interest them.
Some stop because they don't have groups, and LFG hampers them with elitist stupidity.
Some stop because they don't have fun doing the raid and never bother to complete it after trying it once or twice. For me, it was one-and-done, never going back.

Most stop because they are too lazy to form a team and get in there and put in work. Lfg never stops me when i want something done. The problem for many is, when the raid drops, its a takes several hours for people to get it mastered. Some like to sit back a week and wait for that to happen. Then the expect to be added to groups that have it mastered and get a quick run, saving them all the hours. People need to get off their lazy asses, get in the raid and put in the time. Just like the people before them did. If people are asking for 10 clears, go get 10 clears. Worked for me.

I don't disagree -- expect to put in the work if you want breezy raid runs. I did that for D1 -- I had help, but I turned around and then helped too. For Leviathan, I just don't like the activity itself--it's not fun to me, and there are other things I can spend time doing. IMO, Bungie got the wrong message about raid mechanics, and doubled down on those at the expense of the overall [i]experience[/i]. But different people like different things. I haven't tried the lairs, but from readthroughs they sound a bit better.
