So, here we are again. Grab a drink, take a seat, and lets talk about a thing or two. First thing we need to clear up is that the Lens was never nerfed; a nerf means they designed it one way, realized it was working too well, and removed some of it's power. No, the Lens was broken when it went live, and wasn't functioning appropriately from minute 1. The hot fix for it was literally that: a fix. It now is in line with Cold Heart, which is what should be expected. Remember the Thunderlord elemental copies? None of them killed faster, they just did different things, and the same is true here. Secondly, the Lens wasn't a 'fun' gun, it quite literally broke an entire aspect of the game. I got lucky and got mine in the first hour, and captured a lot of game footage. From that aspect, I can comforably say, nothing could stand up to it, and that is the only reason it was 'fun' to use. If it and everything else were balanced on the same level of TTK that the Lance and Wing have, it would just be another gun again, like it is now. Let's face it: the only 'amazing' thing about it was that it was both overpowered in the balance scheme, and not everyone had one up until Xur arrived that Friday. Instead of focusing on a novelty, Bungie really needs to address the TTK balance of the game for all the guns, not just a few hand picked exotics. Once they unify things mostly, then we can get down to having debates over what needs a boost and what doesn't. Until then, basically everything needs a buff.

Lmfao at all the posts saying it got nerfed, it didn't get nerfed it got FIXED . There was literally 2 points of damage one from the beam and another from the giant orb it created. Bungie even tweeted before that the gun was bugged and was going to get a hotfix.

This is the issue with the pendulum of buffs and nerfs. Players, whether they admit it or not, like to use OP things. This is especially true in PvP. It isn't because they have a god-complex and want to feel powerful for some deep reason like a lot of people suggest. It's because it's just plain fun. Old school Thorn, Hawkmoon, TLW, and Vex were really fun to use. Did it take skill? Not really. But, everyone had access to them for the most part so the playing field was more or less level. Now, you take those same people and when they die to (weapon x) repeatedly as more and more people obtain the weapon, they suddenly have a massive issue with it and want it nerfed. There are probably a handful of people out there who genuinely care about well balanced PvP. The rest of the players want to have their cake and eat it too. They'd gladly use an OP weapon for 10 matches straight and crush with it, then get facerolled one match and run to the forums to whine about it. Bungie should have never given in to the numerous cries for buffs and nerfs over the years. Destiny 1 PvP shifted from fun to aggravating because Bungie caved numerous times and kept changing their vision of PvP.

Lense and coldheart really need more buffs. Something that would actually make them viable in pve, like rampage. They are basically just fancy laserpointers with no advantage over a legendary. I would use valkadyn every day of the week before i use one of them again. Also the masterworks are a joke.

First off, that was fun as hell. Secondly, the ttk was 0.3 seconds...I like quick ttks but that is a tiny bit to fast. That said, seeing it return to a 1 sec or so ttk would be very nice.

Only time I enjoyed the game was with that gun in pvp! Bring it back!!

YEs yes yes AND YEEAH god I hate fusion rifles. Shotguns are bad as well but not AS bad... I can't believe I'm saying it but rockets are actually bad now. RIP snipers also.

Im going to ignore your nerf herding comments in your post, OP... (stop crying for nerfs!) Anyway... No. The Prometheus lens should not be returned to how it was in that first insane weekend.. Bungie admitted it was broken and released with a bug. I do agree however that the gun is pretty weak, even in regards to clearing mook enemies. Its supposed to be used to clear low level adds, and it doesnt do that job very well at all. It could use a bit of a damage buff, but not to the point it had once been.
