If you’re looking for an action heavy, intense deathmatch, I’d look elsewhere. However, Splatoon 2 is a great objective based shooter, with more uniqueness, and innovation than I’ve seen in a shooter since the genre started. Your goal in Splatoon’s main mode is to gover as much ground with ink as you can, while the opposing team does the same. You do this simply by shooting, or throwing bombs, and using your supers. The single player Hero Mode is more of a platformer than a shooter, but is a blast to play, and can unlock you unique hear for multiplayer by playing it. Rather than traditional guns, you use ink-based weaponry. As such, you don’t have clips, but rather an ink level as ammo. When drained, it’ll slowly fill over time, but the most efficient way to fill it is by turning into a squid, and swimming through your team’s colored ink. This feature makes low ammo fights a blast to play. Finally, their horde mode, Salmon Run, is hands down the best horde mode I have ever played. Great game!
