No one is talking about legalizing those types of guns. We are talking about AR-15s.

Except for the most part where no one can buy a "fully automatic military assault rifle" to do any of that. Sure, there are a few legal pre-ban (pre 1986) ones around, but those are owned by wealthy individuals (on average they cost $10,000 and up, not including the ffl license), and in only some states. Not to mention that there have been less than 8 instances of a legally owned full auto firearm being used in a crime since 1938.
