Here’s an ancient one, PC titles that actually required an optical drive to run, or at the very least install right into Steam and make you wonder why there even was a disc in the first place? With the formalities aside, the last time I used a disc to do anything related to playing a game would be what’s pictured above, The Fallout Anthology. Admittedly I mostly picked it up because I wanted a near life size mini nuke to sit next to my Pip Boy, but being able to enjoy Interplay’s Fallout alongside modding Fallout 3 and New Vegas were nice bonuses too. If that doesn’t count and you want a title that requires the disc to play period, I’d say it would be Quake II which I somehow inherited around 2006.
