Is Three of Coins simply a placebo? (Bungie Official Tweet)
Without Bungie providing the percentage increase of chance for an exotic to drop, how do we know if ToC does anything at all?
We can’t rely on Bungie’s veracity here either. Think, first they throttled experience gain without telling us but allowed us to buy fire team medallions that would have been pointless if you were being throttled. Then they “fixed” the issue of throttling xp gain but then DOUBLED the amount of xp needed to level up without telling a soul.
Based on that track record, what’s keeping them from releasing ToC as a placebo for us to burn through the thousands of shards we have? How does one prove that random drops have increased when said drops are RANDOM?!?
[b]UPDATE:[/b] So after reading many of your comments it seems as if ToC is in fact BUGGED and REDUCES your chance of gaining exotics when activated. My recommendation is to avoid using ToC at all costs if you value getting exotic drops.
Bungie is now on Christmas break so it’s doubtful we will hear anything on this issue nor will it be resolved any time soon.

1 回复This is ridiculous! Every single time Bungie puts out something new, there is something that "isn't working as intended". I get it, they have to find a way to get people playing since launch to spend those thousands of legendary shards that they've been stockpiling. But when you can't even recycle your old content properly from D1 that you inexplicably took out of the game, you're losing more and more players. I am so sick to death of "we're looking at the data and we agree that "___fill in the blank___ " isn't working as intended. I dropped way too much money in D1 tying to obtain the ghost ghost in the Festival of the Lost, only to get a pitiful "we agree the drop rates weren't working as intended". Did I get a refund? NO. Did I get any sort of compensation for the time and money wasted? NO. This is exactly what is happening again but on a game wide scale. Bungie, we are not your QA department, testing your broken RNG systems with our real money (or fake currencies ie: legendary shards". To borrow an idea that SkillUp presented in his video of why he's done with the game as a whole, "If a restaurant serves you a subpar meal, they make it right by giving you a new meal and maybe even a free dessert. They don't give you the exact same meal that was bad and charge you again for it".

2 回复The funny thing is that no one really complained that exotics were too infrequent. People complained that exotics were impotent and boring. I have no idea why they thought we needed more exotics. Exotics used to be game changing--that's what people want.

3 回复If they are anything like d1 toc, they only work some of time and have a ten minute cool down before you can use another one.

9 回复Yes. Got an exotic last night, before I popped a coin. After, played 4 hours and nothing. Barely got any purps too. Just save shards and use them on fated engrams. That's the best method, in my opinion.

All I know is that 3oC aren't completely broken. I've still been getting exotics with them active. It's possible that they don't really increase your chances of exotics. But there are a lot of people claiming that they stop you from getting exotics all together and that just isn't true.

1 回复How do we know it does anything? We don't. The fact is, all Bungo needed to accomplish with 3oC was adding to Xur's inventory, and giving our Shards a use... both of these missions were accomplished.

2 回复RNG can be hell but honestly i dont think the 3oc are broken and ill tell you why it is December 18th and at around 8:00pm central time i was killing the mercury cabal yellow bars or conquerors and i had a 3oc going no fireteam medallion and upon killing the conqueror i received an exotic. I had already finished the flashpoint earlier this week so it wasnt from that. Im no happy with alot of the things and hate even defending bungie after the state of destiny 2 but at the very least 3oc are not broken for everyone.
