URIEL'S GIFT: THE MOST BROKEN GUN IN DESTINY 2?
So, I come here after playing many hours of iron banner/crucible.
I am a seasoned D1/D2 player. I have been playing since before they named a year 1 in D1, and was there on the first day of D2.
I hate to be the salty OP, but I cannot endure anymore how broken Uriel's Gift is.
This is seriously the most broken gun in Destiny 2, other than The Last Hope -- but that's a different topic of discussion.
This gun is broken because it kills guardians from SCOUT RIFLE RANGE, and of course in close combat it's as OP as lettuce is green.
It's incredibly frustrating because it require's ABSOLUTELY NO SKILL AT ALL to use, and you just hold the right trigger down and move your right thumb a micrometer in any direction to kill someone.
That's literally all you need to do.
In close quarters, when opposing someone who uses Uriel's Gift, I can put three bullets into them before they even start shooting me and they will STILL end up being victorious at least 8/10 times.
Why is this? Well, auto rifles will ALWAYS shoot fast, and faster than most guns in the game. With that being said, it fires 5 shots probably in at least 1 - 2 seconds -- which again is understandable since its an auto rifle -- and that's all it needs kill a guardian. 5 bullets and you're dead.
But ya' know, its close range combat so it's a LITTLE understandable. A faster, stronger gun SHOULD win.
Now when it comes to longer range combat, it still does the EXACT SAME THING AS IF YOU WERE 5 FEET away, or 1.7 meters away from the said Uriel's Gift user.
Countless times I have been melted from SCOUT RIFLE distance from a Uriel's GIft. All because 5 shots hit me.
THIS GUN IS BROKEN. SO INCREDIBLY BROKEN.
Especially since it's not even an exotic! So it can be used in combination with the Meta Tool :D (which you know at least 1 person a match is using 1 or both of those weapons).
What do you guys think about Uriel's Gift? Do you agree? Hopefully you reader's do.
I would love to just have UG completely removed from the game -- but that's obviously impossible.
So what should happen to UG?
Please vote above and show the dev's that UG is literally the most broken weapon in the game, and what should be done about it.
If you're on the opposing side, are you one of the people who exploit the OP-ness of said weapon? Yep, you probably are :D

Every single person I've played against in crucible uses uriels gift. Its a crutch. It some how over powers every weapon in the game. It should be tweaked. The fact that its o.p is the reason that everyone and their freakin moms is using it. I guarantee that if bungie balanced it, half as many people would use it. I'm sick of seeing it. 99/100 times when you get killed, the weapon will read "uriels gift" I miss the good old days when people would use a weapon because they considered themselves good with it, or they liked the way it looked.. Now its the other way around. People use it because you don't have to be good, the gun will do the work for you. Its opium for the masses people. Its a stupid broken gun, and the only reason everyone is defending it, is because they are scared of what will happen if bungie balances it with everything else. I remember in D1 when hand cannons would wreck along side any auto, pulse, or scout rifle, but now the people who grew to love hand cannons are totally screwed because of the disbalance of weapons. Especially uriels gift. I'm sure this rings true for people who use other weapon classes as their main. No matter what you use though, uriels gift is a proverbial thorn in the side to all truely skilled Destiny players.

I definitely think the most broken award goes to last hope. Uriel's Gift can be beaten; I long ago stopped using it in favor of the number. Last Hope can be ridiculous. I once dropped a barricade and 1 person with a last hope demolished it and killed me in barely a second. I hadn't taken damage from other sources and there was no lag. Before the onslaught of "git gud" replies; I fully understand why people are wary of any proposed damage reductions in pvp. I get that balancing pvp at the cost of pve has caused a lot of issues. Honestly though when did you last see anyone using last hope in pve? I don't think I ever have. Anyway just my opinion. Even though the community has valid reason to be concerned about over nerfing of weapons, it doesn't make sense to refuse to recognize that throughout the time of Destiny 2 nothing will ever legitimately need a change.

6 回复See, the thing is....EVERYONE can get the same EXACT gun. So if it’s soooo OP, use yours?? Don’t come on the forums looking to start the nerf ball rolling, because you will regret it, I promise you. Bungie takes things to the extreme, they don’t normally like to nerf just 1 gun, so they destroy the entire class

5 回复Lookup Fallout Plays on YouTube. He made a vid showing how effective high caliber rounds really are. Not much of a difference. What makes Uriel’s great and the most overused weapon is it’s consistency. I love the Prosecutor AR but it has terrible hit detection and sometimes feels like you lose all aim assist or gain so much that it’s literally pulling away from your target attaching to someone else across the map. UG also feels like it has no damage falloff because of map design. If you get outgunned by a UG on say Midtown..you at A flag spawn with a scout and the other player with UG at the bridge by outside Power Ammo, you are the problem because damage drop off is noticeable there. People exaggerate as an excuse for having low skill. The only gun(s) that need to be tweaked are Omolon 3 round burst sidearms. Keep everything the same just lower the rate of fire making it require headshots for optimal TTK. And reduce the Aim Assist on the Mida from 100 down to match the other Scouts in the same archetype. Buff high impact scouts and pulse rifles. Change one of the 360 rpm energy pulse rifles to 450 rpm. Fix hit detection and buff everything else. Mega Buff for Fighting Lion please( Controlled Detonation or Proximity, Direct hits disorient enemies, more damage to guardians using a super)

6 回复It seems to me you don't know what OP "Overpowered" is, no gun in destiny 2 can be considered OP. A OP gun will be like the Vex Mythoclast before nerf, no other primary weapon could compare to that monster. There are many secondary autos that can do just as good as the Uriel's Gift, for example the Number, Prosecutor and the Jiangshi Ar4 can perform just as well as the Uriel's Gift, the Uriel's Gift is not OP its overused.

7 回复most of the people who vote are probably going to be HEAVY uriels users so this poll is slanted from the start lol. The gun does have absurd range and its a not so big secret everyone knows and more than likely dont want to change. so this is going to fall flat on its face b.

I don't use it, there are better AR's out there than UG. Yeah, it's definitely a top tier AR, but there are better ARs out there, and better weapon of other types that can easily compete with it. You just need to experiment and find the right combination. I tried UG just to see what the hype was all about, while it was good, I didn't feel compelled to continue using it as I felt I had better options / combinations. I don't follow the meta ... I like to be different. And somehow, I still seem to do alright.

I guess the first question is what are you using? Close range majority of subbies outgun UG, many other autos will match it. Majority of kinetic autos will beat it. Its a solid energy auto no denying it but its far from op.
