If they're all the same OEM (part to part), maybe look at the CVARs ([url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46407]per the guide[/url]), to see if you can find any differences?

Even the smallest thing can make a huge difference.

I have just tried this, deleting the CVARs file and also trying to manually set the framerate cap... Unfortunately, these did not change anything. my GPU is still only being utilised less than 40% with framerates of under 50fps. I did notice tho that in areas that I would assume the GPU will be loaded more (populated areas and areas with lots of effects) my GPU usage goes down and my CPU goes up thus dropping the framerate even more. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Do both systems show the drop, or just yours? (I assume both are the same in terms of CVAR values now.) I mean, no two pieces of hardware are identical, there are always minor differences. It just seems strange that if you're running the same configurations that it would be so vastly different.

my sis' system is fine. needed not to change anything. mine is just the wonky one which i dont understand. by the way, i had an old gtx 770 and slapped it on, used almost 100% all the time with frames just over 60fps which is better than my 1080?? I would hate to think that a gtx 770 would perform better on my system.....

May need to clean reinstall the drivers after putting the 1080 back in (uninstall, reboot, re-install). It's really weird, but it sounds like it isn't playing nice with the newer card. Short of that, I'd be looking at a BIOS upgrade.

You may want to try a driver cleaner like DDU to make sure you're 100% getting a clean install. I consider it a must when swapping/reinstalling drivers. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Uninstall driver. Reboot in safe mode. Run driver cleaner. Reboot again and you should be 100% clean with no leftover files. Even when you choose a "clean install" it lies and can still leave reg settings and whatnot behind.

tried the DDU and downloaded a fresh install of the driver. still no joy. on a better note, my other games appear to load quicker after the DDU.... It's just this stubborn Destiny 2 game.... starting to really get frustrating.....

I think I might bring this down to an isolated case of bad optimisation. I mean @BungieHelp has other issues with the ban waves right? I appreciate the help. Will certainly keep this in my back pocket for future troubleshooting.
