There's still the requirement to get into the door (30 cores, but that's really nothing any will 0robaably get those anyways along the way), but yeah no more floor blocks are great. It absolutely sucked to spend hours grinding so you could complete the increasingly difficult challenges of each floor, just to be told that you have to grind more to go into the next. The game didn't really need that extra push to incentivise exploration, and including it really just made exploring more tedious than fun.

Fair warning: get the double-jump-boost mechanics down really well. The platforming on the upper floors gets a bit brutal, but you do feel like you've accomplished something when you get through a section.
