If you read the contract between Bungie and Activision, it's supposed to be 4 games, 4 comet releases (Large updates you need to buy), in addition to updates (defined as DLC's) and other contents (to make the illusion that the game stay fresh)
Destiny was released way to late, so they made additional "Comets" to extend it until D2 was ready to be announced.
The 10 year contract for 4 games, means that D3 has to be released pretty soon after the D2 "Comet" I guess (especially since the contract mentions bonuses to keep deadlines)
I hope they make it less obvious this time... Like last time, nothing they released seemed cohesive. It was all just bits and pieces shuffled around. I wouldn't mind the dlc if it actually felt progressive.
