I'm 5500+ with about 5000 hours and I don't have much good to say. Here's my take knowing it's Beta:
Boring.
It's really apparent the Destiny 2 vision was to fix Destiny 1 problems. That's it. Pure and simple. That is the driving force behind Destiny 2.
And, because of that Destiny 2 has no innovation. There's no wow factor because all they sought out to do was fix Destiny 1.
They should have fixed Destiny 1 in Destiny 1.
It's inconceivable how bad they got this wrong.

Yea.... That's a very succinct way to put it. Although I don't think they got it wrong it's just... Well you know that saying, "They got the cart before the horse?" Well, they did that but they didn't finish building the cart yet either.
