Iran actually has one of the best governments in the world
The Islamic Republic of Iran is modeled on Plato's work [i]Politeia[/i], and is in fact the ideal form of government.
Seriously, you can transplant the model into almost any fairly religious society and it will probably work out great.
That's not to say it's perfect, but it is a pretty awesome political structure that is allowing Iran to slowly crawl back into relevance even in the face of economic pressure from all of the imperialist powers, Israeli espionage/sabotage, and constant sociopolitical and ideological pressure from her Sunni neighbors.

1 回复Crawl back into relevance? Iran has always punched well above its weight. But yeah I agree its a better system of government than most other Gulf and Arab states. Wanted to spit when I saw Trump decrying Irans HUman rights record to the Saudis, especially as it was on the day of the Iranian election. Wonder when the last Saudi election was?

3 回复Wasn't Plato's ideal government lead only by philosophers and that it would never happen because it would be like trying to explain what the world looks like to someone whos only ever lived under a cave. Or am I the only one that actually pay attention in class?

8 回复Plato and all those other Greek or Roman whatever philosophers stole the knowledge of ancient Persia (Iran) and Sumeria. So basically, it's not modeled after Plato, it's modeled after themselves.
