To everyboy wo thinks "guns" would help us in Europe. Very interesting Slate article: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/06/05/mississippi_mass_shooting_on_may_27_was_deadlier_than_london.html?wpsrc=newsletter_slatest&sid=5388f4e7dd52b8e41101319c

Other than Slate being a liberal propaganda rag whose bias was showing from the first sentence.... The guy who shot those guys wasn't legally allowed to have firearms, already breaking one law. Out of the other shootings mentioned, most of those occurred where firearm ownership is regulated heavily and innocent people have a hard time getting a license to carry. (Laws don't hurt criminals. By definition they don't give a shit about laws.) The toddler finding the gun was a rare incident involving a gun owner that doesn't secure his firearms. There are over 100 million legal gun owners with billions of rounds of ammo and over 300 million guns. If we were a problem, you'd know it
Other than Slate being a liberal propaganda rag whose bias was showing from the first sentence....
Bias does not necessarily equal inaccuracy. Your response hasn't demonstrated the article's inaccuracy at all. Everything it said was factually correct and not at all an unfair representation of the situation in America. It does not misrepresent, mislead or lie. The article itself even admits that this was an exceptionally calm day in terms of gun violence, given that 90 people die by gun every day (30 of which are homicides) on average in the US. I think you're kind of letting your own bias get involved here yourself.

I'll admit I'm a little biased, but the article fails to mention how many lives a gun saved yesterday. It makes it sound like the ones committing the crime were law biding gun owners. It's easy to take a blanket number and make it sound scary. It also fails to mention that shootings in the US are still on the decline even though many states have loosened their restrictions. It's trying to distract from the fact that while European countries open their borders, attacks are becoming more common and their citizens still don't have a way of defending themselves.

Fair points, but I think that a decent amount of what you said is based on common misunderstandings of this issue. I have a degree in criminal law and gun control is one of my particular interests, so if you'd like I could spend some time going over the parts I think you got wrong in a certain way.

I agree that his response was decent and well put together. It just didn't really answer my question, which was for him to show where the article was inaccurate. I agree with some of what he said, but my post merely meant that I think he might only be seeing these perceived inaccuracies because of his bias on the topic.
Yeah no shit obviously a task force was needed to deal with the idiots they responded within 10 minutes... so whats your point?
Whats your point? Ya ten minutes when an armed civilian could've taken care of it immediately. 10 min was only because they are already put on high alert from the last attack otherwise they don't respond that quickly ever

Idc about gun violence I care about violence and I don't think leaving your people's defenseless is the moral way to go
