Who's to say we won't have 2 of each. Like golden gun plus a new solar subclass. We could have a choice of 2 of each element. There will be new ones I think, poison or corrosion, ice or water based, illusion or time bending based for a hunter.
Please though bungie, shoulder charge, sticky nades and evades, be gone...! Get rid of all the cheesy bullshit. Concentrate on people's gun skills not gimmicks. Let the best gun skills win...!

Awe man it's awful stuff, lol. I'm a buffalo mozzarella cheese man myself. I like some good old Irish cheddar too, also some Edam, oh and Philadelphia, oh oh, and mixed Italian. Damn, i like cheese more than I realised.

It's one of the things with sequels. Generally, they are built on new engines or heavily modified versions, they tend to like to show off the new engine with new abilities that weren't possible under the old version. Sequels also give them a chance to do new things, start fresh, without all the baggage of the older game.

Oh I fully believe we are gonna have new shit. Would make no sense not to have new stuff but it's not to say we won't have the old stuff if we want to, we could have multiple class options. I'm just spit balling but it would be nice to have several to choose from for each element.

Yes it would be nice, and perhaps Bungie will migrate the old abilities over, but that would likely only happen much nearer the end of the main campaign. I'm just not convinced they will put resources into carrying them other. The OP made this post as a counterpoint to the belief people have been given by some 'loremasters' that the TTK powers will be available from the start of the game because 'they're not from the Traveller'.

It's possible but I doubt they'll bring over one and not the other two. We will lose our powers straight away and have to go get new ones from the start imo. They said guardians will learn "new and devastating abilities", devastating is a big would and means absolute beast mode to me. I wouldn't call our current supers devastating so seems we will be even more powerful in D2, perhaps.

I feel that it means we will actually lose the doctrines of the Vanguard, which imo were holding Guardians back as it's a one-size fits all structure. They were catered to the most common denominator. The Iron Lords did not have such limitations, so appear to have been able to actually cross boundaries (Felwinter learning a technique from Jolder) In TTK we had to turn to abilities that most Guardians weren't taught, purely because they weren't talented or powerful enough, and therefore deemed too dangerous. The answer probably lies with the Guardians that Efrideet lived with, those she terms as pacifists, who wanted to do more with Light than just kill. It may even lie with the Awoken who imply that terms such as Light and Darkness are unimaginative limitations.

If someone stuck me and stood there shooting me to make sure then I'd say that guys good, he felt no reason to run away and was making sure I was dead. Kudos to him. For the cheap, pansy, little sissy players that throw a sticky and jump as high as they can on the map as to not be retaliated on I say, go buy a barbie, you'll love playing with it.

We will for sure have new subclasses, it would make no sense not having new Ines. It would feel like a dog not a new game if we had the same. That's not to say like you said, we won't get them back later on or have multiple subclasses for each element.
