100th aniversary of the US in WW1

Yesterday (April 6th) marked the 100 year anniversary of the United States entering the first world war, resulting in the victory of the Allies over the Central Powers. The United States was reluctant to join the war, which had been waging for roughly three years up to that point, due to varies reasons such as the fact many Americans viewed it as "just another European war." This all changed due to varies reasons. For one, Germany declared unrestricted submarine warfare, resulting in the sinking of many US ships, including the famous Lusitania. This put the US in a position which heavilh leaned towards supporting the Allies. For another, much more important reason: The Zimmerman telegram. England intercepted a German message to Mexico promising them Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, and parts of Nevada if they attacked the US in the event of a war. This ticked us Americans off, badly. When we enetered the war, the US military bumbered roughly 200,000 men spread across all branches. This was pitifully small, especially compared to the massive war machines of Europe. However, by the end of the year the United States didbthe impossible, we fielded over 2 million troops, fully equipped and trained, sailing across to France to help stop " the Hun." No other nation could do that. No other nation had ever done that. No other nation has ever done it. We turned our entire economy into a war machine to support it, and the resllults were total victory less than a year later after the Muse-Argonne offensive, which broke the German Army. We ended the war that Europe had been stuck in for 4 years. God bless America.
